Larry King Has It Wrong

“It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.” (Hebrews 9:27.) Did you read about it? I read it recently, Larry King – of TV’s Larry King Live fame – wants to be frozen so he can come back and have doctors fix whatever it was that caused his death.

In a television special, Dinner with King, he said, “I wanna be frozen, on the hope that they’ll find whatever I died of and they’ll bring me back.”

I don’t think I would want to come back in a 78 year old body that looks like his. In the interview he said, “My biggest fear is death, because I don’t think I’m going anywhere. And since I don’t think that, I don’t have a belief…I’m married to someone who has the belief, so she knows she’s going somewhere.” Isn’t it sad that King’s wife understands the scriptural principles that rule our lives while he does not.

The Bible is clear that there will be no second chances at life. “It is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment.”  (Hebrews 9:27) Cryonics may preserve our body but there is no chance that he will have breath after coming out of that tank – period!

Yet the Bible offers a second chance at life “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16) Larry King believes cryonics offers his only chance for resurrection. What King fails to understand is that the only way to experience a resurrected life is through faith in Jesus. That’s what Jesus meant when He said, “He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.” (Matthew 10:39)

This guy does not have to spend all that money. His grave will crack open one day, even if he is frozen in a tank! I just hope he finds Jesus before he goes because Jesus said this about resurrection: “For the hour is coming in which all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come forth-those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.” (John 5:28-29)

Think about it!
